Bikes Loaded on Truckee Bike Rack
One strap end fastens to top piece on rack. Other strap end wraps around bike frame and support arm, then fastens back to top piece. A solid, secure attachment with no rubber straps to come loose.
Loading bikes on rack support arms equipped with cradles and rubber straps can be a challenge; the arms will not fit through small spaces, the straps snag and are hard to stretch and fasten, the bike can only be carried at an odd angle, a separate top tube adapter may be required, and etc. The 1 3/8" diameter bike support arms on the Truckee fit through cruiser bike frames, behind the seat post on ladies frames and other places where space is limited.
Ladies bikes fit on the support arms without the need for a special top tube adapter. Bumper Tie™ secures lower frame of first bike loaded to rack center column and bike tie down straps fasten the frame to the support arms. With less than a four bike load, excess strap length is taken up by simply adding an extra wrap around the frame and support arm. The straps store under the Bumper Tie when no bikes are loaded. |
